Sewing Workshop Series: Regency Gowns
Are you an aspiring seamstress and costumier? Got a sewing machine sitting around and want to build your skills to help with local theater costuming? We’ve got the perfect workshop for you!
Stephanie Hyatt, Theatre Huntsville's costumer for our Pemberley plays, will teach a 4-week workshop where you will help create costumes for this season's The Wickhams: Christmas at Pemberley.
September 21st class focus: Learn about using patterns to create clothing, including working with a master pattern for garment variation for a show. Construct the skirt of a Regency gown.
In the workshop you will learn how to:
Size and cut a pattern
Construct a period dress
Insert a zipper
Create button holes
Finish garments with hems and trim
Workshop dates - participants are asked to attend all 4 workshops in the series:
September 21 & 28
October 12 & 19
What to Bring:
Sewing machine (if you have one)
Don’t have a sewing machine? Email us about borrowing one.
Cost:
This workshop series is free to attend.
How to Register:

Work Day
Join us at our Scene Shop for a volunteer work day to prep for our upcoming season!
WHO:
All volunteers 16 & up welcome. (under 16 need to be accompanied by an adult)
No experience needed.
Stop by any time and stay for as long as you’d like during the work day hours.
WHAT TO BRING:
Water to drink.
Work gloves/goggles (if you have them). If not, we have plenty.
WHAT TO WEAR:
Clothes you don’t mind getting dirty

Join us for a fun and practical accent workshop focused on the basics of a British accent—perfect for anyone planning to audition for The Wickhams: Christmas at Pemberley!
Whether you're new to accents or just need a refresher, this session will help you feel more confident and prepared for auditions.
Open to all experience levels—no corset required!

Set Load Out - Something Rotten
Join Theatre Huntsville as we pack everything up for Something Rotten at the Von Braun Center Playhouse and take it back to our Scene Shop.
WHAT WE’RE DOING:
Break down the set
Pack up all props, costumes, and other things
Loading the set onto moving trucks
Unload the set at our Scene Shop
Volunteers are needed to:
help load set pieces, costumes, props, and other items onto moving trucks.
pack up all show materials
We’ll have pizza and snacks for all volunteers.

Set Load In - Something Rotten
Join Theatre Huntsville for Phase 2 of our set load in for Something Rotten! at the Von Braun Center Playhouse.
WHAT WE’RE DOING:
Loading the set for Something Rotten! onto the stage at the VBC Playhouse
Volunteers are needed to:
help unload set pieces, costumes, props, and other items
build the set on the stage of the VBC Playhouse
We’ll have coffee and donuts in the morning and pizza for lunch.

Load the Truck - Something Rotten
Join us for part one of our set load in!
WHAT WE’RE DOING:
Packing up all the set pieces, props and costumes on to our moving truck in preparation for moving into the Von Braun Center Playhouse on Saturday June 7, 2025.
