Huntsville Auditions for Come From Away

Audition for Theatre Huntsville’s production of Come from Away July 18–19, 2026 and become part of the remarkable true story that moved audiences around the world.

This powerful, fast-paced musical celebrates compassion, resilience, and the unexpected connections that can change lives forever. We are seeking a diverse cast of strong singers, actors, and storytellers to bring this inspiring ensemble production to the stage.

Audition Details

  • Audition Dates: July 18-19, 2026

    Actors only need to attend one night of auditions.

    Time: 1pm

    Location: Theatre Huntsville Scene Shop and Rehearsal Space

  • We are accepting virtual audition submissions for this show.

    Virtual auditions have 2 components:

    • Email a recorded monologue from these selections and 16-32 bars of a Contemporary Musical Theatre, Pop, or similar style song (ideally with a backing track).

    • Complete an audition form.

    Roles are open to people aged 18 years and up. Auditionees must have turned 18 by 1st October 2026. 

  • Auditions will consist of

    • singing 16-32 bars of a Contemporary Musical Theatre, Pop, or similar style song. Auditionees will have a live accompanist. Please bring your sheet music in a binder to aid the accompanist. 

    • Read selected scenes from the script and take some stage directions from the panel. Read the audition scenes we’ll be performing here.

    • perform a movement/dance sequence. Please ensure you wear appropriate clothing and footwear i.e. no short skirts, tight jeans or sandals. 

  • Come From Away is an uplifting, award-winning musical that tells the remarkable true story of 7,000 stranded airline passengers and the small Newfoundland town that welcomed them after 9/11. Filled with heart, humor, and an unforgettable folk-inspired score, this inspiring show celebrates kindness, community, and the connections that bring people together in extraordinary times.

  • Rehearsals will likely start October 12, 2026. They will be Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays from 6-9pm. Holidays will be skipped. A full calendar will be issued upon casting. Not all cast members will be needed at every rehearsal.

    Tech week will be January 16 through January 20, 2027 . All actors are needed in the evenings during this week. There are no conflicts allowed.

  • Come From Away will run January 22 - Febraury 7, 2027 at the Von Braun Center in Huntsville, Alabama.
